Stuff to DO

AWC bridge players meet in the clubhouse to play social bridge. We usually meet twice a week, Mondays at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday’s mornings at 11 a.m. We are unable to play in the clubhouse twice a month when Bring and Buy ladies set up/sell/clean up from a sale. Then we play in a member’s home. And we sometimes change our timeframe to suit Clubhouse or players' needs. Check this webpage for the most up to date information on times.

Members are reminded of bridge days by e-mail or telephone and are asked to RSVP to Shaun or Nancy in order to have some idea of who will be playing and how many tables are needed.

Cost: AWC members pay 2€ and non-club members 2€ plus and extra to Nancy for use of the clubhouse. We give first and second cash prizes and prizes for other exceptional feats (such as playing a winning trick with the 2 of clubs). The leftover money is donated regularly to the club’s various charity funds.

We draw for and change partners after a round of four games. We play SAYC (Standard American Yellow Card). See for online practice bidding where you can make print-outs of these bidding conventions.
